Medical Information

Leadville/Lake County Fire Rescue is committed to quality pre-hospital care for the citizens and guests of Leadville and Lake County.  We currently have 6 EMT-Basics, 2 EMT-Intermediates, and 1 EMT-Paramedic on the career staff.  We strive to provide the best care possible through continuing education and frequent training.

Leadville/Lake County Fire Rescue is not a transporting agency.  We respond to every call with the St. Vincent's General Hospital Ambulance Service.  We support them by providing initial assessments, extrications at accidents, packaging and transporting of patients and serving as an extra set of hands whenever they may need them.

We are currently in the process of creating an Advanced Life Support engine.  When the process is finished we will have medications in compliance with the Denver Metro Protocols, cardiac monitoring and most everything an ambulance would have, except for the ability to transport patients.  Feel free to stop by the station with any questions you may have regarding our emergency medical response.
